A Newly Published Study Evaluated HS-Spirit in Infection Prevention Following Cardiac Surgery

A study published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, in collaboration with the Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit at Sheba Medical Center, evaluated the use of HS-Spirit Hydrogel Dressing in 95 patients following open-heart surgery.

During a 6-week follow-up period, the study demonstrated a favorable safety profile, with no adverse events or mortality. In addition, the study’s findings in post-operative wound infection prevention were lower compared with DSWI rates previously reported in the scientific literature.

The study concluded that HS-Spirit demonstrated a favorable safety profile, with the potential to be integrated into existing post-operative infection-prevention protocols.
